A new wonderful and windy day at La Rochelle provided sailors with best of fun and sportive action on third day of the 2018 Laser Senior European championships.
This way the Qualifying series concluded with all 6 scheduled races complete.
2018 Laser Senior Europeans – Day 3 results
Matthew Wearn AUS (
2-1-1-1-1-1) took the Laser Standard leadership today after one more perfect day. Sam Meech NZL (1-1-1-1-2- 4) is now second, just 1 point behind. Andrew McKenzie NZL (2-2- 8-1-3-3) is third overall with 11 units.
Pavlos Kontides CYP (3-1-
BFD-5-3-2) is now leading the European championship and ranked 4th overall, draw in 14 points with Philipp Buhl GER (4-3-2-4- BFD-1). Jesper Stalheim SWE (4-3-3-3- 5-2) is third European, just 1 point behind leaders. Michael Beckett GBR (1-5-3-5- 12-4) dropped to 7th overall and 4th European sailor.
Defending champion Nick Thompson GBR (7-9-
12-7-1-9) won his first race on this event and scaled to 17th overall with 33 units.
Maxime Jonker NED (1-1-1-
8-1-1) had a perfect day again leading both races with authority, and continues to lead the Radial Women’s championship with 5 points, followed by 2017 European champion Marit Bouwmeester NED (3- 9-1-3-1-2) with 10. Emma Plasschaert BEL ( 16-3-5-2-2-2) is now third with 14 units, followed just point behind by Paige Railey USA (1-7-11-4-2-1) with 15.
The Laser Radial Men championship’s top positions are tighten but still managed by Nik Pletikos SLO (4-3-1-
8-1-4) with 13 points. Second place for Federico Tocchi ITA (3- 9-4-3-3-1) with 14. Third place for defending champion Marcin Rudawski POL (6-7-3-2-2-2) with 15 units. Aleksander Arian POL (7- 12-2-1-4-3) is now 4th overall with 17.
