Third day of competition at the 2019 Laser Europa Cup in Hvar, Croatia.
Sunny clear sky with a nice NE wind between 10-15 knots made all 86 sailors to enjoy of a great day of races.
Clean starts with no general recalls allowed competitors to complete three new races back to back. With 4 races now on scores, the first discard applied.
Montenegrin sailor Nikola Golubovic MNE (3-2-2-1) is now leading the Laser 4.7 class with 5 points, followed by overnight first Eleonore Borgin CRO (1-6-5-15) with 12. Third place overall for Portuguese sailor Joao Pontes POR (13-1-9-3), draw in 13 points with fourth Soma Sigmond HUN (2-3-8-9).
Local sailor Roko Stipanovic CRO (1-2-2-11) is still on top of the Laser Radial fleet with 5 points, closely followed by Women’s leader Sandra Lulic CRO (7-1-4-1) with 6. Third place for Slovenian sailor Lin Pletikos SLO (5-3-1-6), draw in 9 points with Ukrainian Andrew Verdysh UKR (2-5-3-4).
The Laser Standard competition is now in hands of local sailor Alec Cvinar CRO (2-1-3-1) with 4 points, escorted by Montenegrin Ilija Markovic MNE (8-5-1-2) with 8. Overnight leader Stipe Gaspic CRO (1-2-UFD-6) is now third overall with 9 units.
Two last races are scheduled for tomorrow and starting at 11:00, with 7-10 knots wind prediction.
