The 2019 Laser 4.7 Youth World Championships concluded today in Kingston, Canada, with awesome results for our European sailors, winning 11 of 12 medals.
Laser 4.7 Youth Worlds – European sailors shone again in Canada
Starting with the Girl’s fleet, Swiss sailor Anja Von Allmen SUI was the overall winner after 11 races, getting the Gold medal with 37 points. She was escorted on podium by Spanish Lara Himmes ESP and Italian Sara Savelli ITA, getting Silver and Bronze medals respectively.
Following with the Girl’s U16 competition, the Gold medal was for Italian Alina Iuorio ITA, finishing 10th overall, escorted on podium by Australian Evie Saunders AUS and Spanish Cristina Vilariño ESP.
63 were the girls participating of this 2019 Laser 4.7 Youth Worlds.
Talking now about the Boy’s competition, the Gold medalist and overall winner was Italian Niccolo Nordera ITA with 27 points in 11 races, escorted on podium by Croatian Roko Stipanovic CRO and Slovenian Gasper Strahovnik SLO getting Silver and Bronze.
Boy’s U16 championship was for Turkish Derin Baytur TUR, finishing 5th overall, escorted on podium by Swiss Ludovico Cornaro SUI and Israeli Yogev Alcalay ISR.
117 sailors participated of boy’s fleet.
