Amazing event for our Youth European sailors in Nieuwpoort, Belgium, where Federica Cattarozzi ITA and Yilkan Timursah TUR have been crowned new 2017 Laser 4.7 Youth World Champions.
2017 Laser 4.7 Youth World Championships – Final results
Federica Cattarozzi ITA (8-1-5-5-2-1-1-1-2) validated today the leadership showed within week and secured first spot overall in Belgium. Great 2017 for her winning also European Laser 4.7 Youth championship in Spain just 3 months ago.
Giorgia Cingolani ITA (1-7-2-3-3-15-3-2-8) was second overall and has been crowned new U16 World champion.
Bronze medal for Ana Moncada ESP (3-2-4-12-31-2-2-3-3).
Julia Buesselberg GER (1-5-4-1-3-34-7-7-10) was finally fourth, followed by Shai Kakon ISR (9-6-3-1-10-7-16-4-1) in fifth and U16 Silver medal.
Bronze U16 medal for Maria Giulia Cicchine ITA, finally 9th overall.
Yilkan Timursah TUR (1-1-1-35-2-3-3-9-DNS-3) could also uphold leadership among male’s fleet and after 10 races is new 2017 Laser 4.7 Youth champion.
Silver medal was finally for Sofiane Karim FRA (1-1-8-1-18-11-1-4-26-25).
Bronze overall and first U16 prize for Cesare Barabino ITA (1-1-7-1-8-2-2-56-3-33-11).
Great comeback of Pere Ponseti Mesquida ESP, finally finishing fourth overall.
Silver U16 medal for Julian Hoffmann GER, finally 12th overall. Third U16 prize for Manuel Barber Ponciano ESP, finishing in 17th position.
