Two new races were added to scores today at the 2018 Laser Senior European championships in La Rochelle, France, where we enjoyed of wonderful 19-24 knots breeze from West and sunshine.
This way the second day concluded with all 4 scheduled races complete for every of 6 fleets participating of the Laser Standard, Laser Radial Women and Laser Radial Men European Championships and Trophy.
2018 Laser Senior Europeans – Day 2 results
Sam Meech NZL (1-1-1-1) continues to lead the Laser Standard fleet with perfect (should say amazing!) score, closely followed by almost amazing Matthew Wearn AUS (2-1-1-1). Andrew McKenzie NZL (2-2-8-1) is now third overall, just two points behind leaders.
Michael Beckett GBR (1-5-3-5) is now first European sailor and ranked 5th overall, draw in 9 points with Pavlos Kontides CYP (3-1-BFD-5), Philipp Buhl GER (4-3-2-4) and Jesper Stalheim SWE (4-3-3-3).
Defending champion Nick Thompson GBR (7-9-12-7) is now 27th with 23 units.
Maxime Jonker NED (1-1-1-8) continues to lead the Radial Women’s championship with 3 points, followed by Marit Bouwmeester NED (3-9-1-3) and Hannah Snellgrove GBR (22-1-5-2) with 7 and 8 points respectively.
Emma Plasschaert BEL (16-3-5-2) and Tuula Tenkanen FIN (3-4-4-6) are 4th and 5th overall with 10 and 11 points respectively.
The Laser Radial Men’s championships is still headed by Nik Pletikos SLO (4-3-1-8) with 8 points, followed now by Aleksander Arian POL (7-12-2-1) on second, draw in 10 points with third Federico Tocchi ITA (3-9-4-3). Defending champion Marcin Rudawski POL (6-7-3-2) is fourth overall with 11 units.
