European Championships

A strong breeze of 12 to 16 knots put racing back on track on day 5 in Bodrum, with three races for the women and the men’s Gold fleet and two for the Silver fleet. Despite general recalls and a long delay on the water, the leaders are taking shape as the 2026 European titles get closer.

Lightning, rain and a short burst of strong wind marked day 4 in Bodrum, as the weather had the final say once again. With two more days of racing to come and a promising forecast, the fleets are ready to catch up.

After a slow start, the breeze arrived in Bodrum and the leaders began to emerge. Tomorrow the men split into Gold and Silver for the final series, with the 2026 European titles still up for grabs.

A full storm delayed the start of day 2 in Bodrum, and the light, shifty wind that followed never allowed the Race Committee to set a proper course. All sailors returned ashore at 16:20, and the standings remain as after day 1.

The 2026 ILCA U21 Europeans got off to a successful start in Bodrum, with all three fleets completing two races despite a patchy breeze early on. Karol Krupski Teterycz ESP and Maria Vittoria Arseni ITA lead the ILCA 7 and ILCA 6 after the first day.

Registration and equipment inspection began in Bodrum, and sailors made the most of sunshine and a nice breeze to test the local waters. Reigning champion Ginevra Caracciolo ITA and Capucine Deltel FRA share their thoughts ahead of Sunday’s first race.

Ginevra Caracciolo, Hermione Ghicas, Antonio Pascali and a host of recent Youth and Under-21 champions will meet again in Bodrum, bringing a wealth of championship experience to the 2026 ILCA Under-21 Europeans.
