2026 ILCA Under-21 Europeans Race day 2

From storm to light breeze: Bodrum keeps everyone guessing at the 2026 ILCA U21 Europeans

Day 2 of the 2026 ILCA Under-21 European Championships & Open European Trophy in Bodrum was a day of changing weather, from a full storm in the morning to light and shifty wind in the afternoon. The conditions never settled enough for racing, and the standings remain as they were after day 1.

Racing was initially scheduled to start at 11:00, but the storm forced a postponement ashore. The Delta flag was raised at 14:00, but the wind died almost immediately afterwards, leaving the sailors floating on the water until 15:30, when a light breeze of around 5 knots arrived.

At 16:00 the wind rose to 9 knots, but it was very shifty, and conditions were not suitable for setting a fair course. After a further wait, the Race Committee raised the AP over Alpha flags around 16:25, sending all sailors back to shore without any races.

Racing is scheduled to continue tomorrow with three races, with the first possible warning signal at 12:00.
