Unfortunately there was no wind today for the last races of the 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Dziwnow, Poland.
The day started early in the morning, with the first warning signal at 08:00 for the Gold fleets, trying to catch some wind before dying as the forecast announced. Unfortunately the wind suddenly dropped from 6 to 3 knots when the RC was preparing the first race, so after a short time on water they decided to send all Gold fleets back to shore and wait for the wind together with the Silver and Bronze fleets.
Nothing changed within the hours so finally the AP over Alpha flags were raised at 14:00 for Silver/Bronze and 15:30 for the Gold fleets.
This way the scores remained as they were yesterday, crowning the leading sailors as new 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European champions. A lovely and crowded closing ceremony started at 16:30, cheering the winners and awarding them with a lot of prizes.

The 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy were organised by Dziwnów Commune, “Baltic” Dziwnów Water Sports Club and EurILCA.
This event was kindly supported by West Pomerania (Pomorze Zachodnie) and sponsored by Amica, Jantar Hotel, Ripper Sailing and Marina Developer.
209 boys and 132 girls were part of this 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European championships, representing 34 nations from all around the World.
The next edition of the EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships will be in Cadiz, Spain, from 15-22 April 2023.
