The 2024 ILCA Under 21 European Championships & Open European Trophy successfully concluded today in Majorca, Spain, organised by Reial Club Nàutic de Pollença.
The day started with a 2 hours postponement onshore due to lack of wind. It was only at 12:15 that the Delta flag could be hoisted and all three fleets were invited to go on water for a last race with a nice breeze varying from 8 to 13 knots.
After 10 races completed, the medalists were finally as follows.
ILCA 6 Championship
Overnight leader Lilly May Niezabitowska POL was finally crowned new 2024 ILCA 6 Under 21 European champion, showing a solid performance during the whole week. By finishing nineteenth today and staying ahead of her closest competitor, Emma Mattivi from Italy, she successfully secured the Gold medal.
Spanish sailor Claudia Adan Lledo ESP had a fantastic conclusion to the championship, claiming first place in today’s race and climbing from third to second position to earn the Silver medal.

ILCA 7 Championship
The men’s championship provided an exhilarating spectacle today in the final race, with Enrico Tanferna ITA and Ole Schweckendiek GER separated by just two points. Ole managed to cross the finish line ahead of Enrico, securing fourth place compared to Enrico’s fifth. However, this narrow margin meant that the Italian ultimately clinched the Gold medal by just one point, with the Silver medal going to the German.
The Bronze medal was finally for the Under 19 champion, Rem Pulci Magen ISR, taking both prizes to Israel.
Slovenian Luka Zabukovec SLO and Polish Filip Olszewski POL completed the U19 podium.
