Marstrand, Sweden – 11 August 2025
The opening day of racing at the 2025 ILCA Senior European Championships & Open European Trophy wrapped up today in Marstrand, Sweden, with the first two scheduled races completed for all three classes.
The morning brought strong swell conditions, forcing a postponement ashore. By the time fleets launched between 11:30 and 12:00, the waves had eased to around 2 metres, allowing racing to get underway shortly after 13:00. The swell continued to drop during the afternoon, settling into a choppier 0.5–1 metre by the end of the second races.
A steady breeze of 10–12 knots prevailed for most of the day, softening slightly in the closing stages.
After two races, the provisional leaders in each class and category are as follows:

Yeah it was a good day. The first race I struggled a bit with my start, but managed to get a clear lane afterwards and catch up with some speed, and managed to finish quite well. The second race I had a better start, still my own race and yeah, I won that one, so happy with it. Every race I try to do my best.
