The 2026 EurILCA Europa Cup Trophy began this weekend with its opening event, the 2026 EurILCA Europa Cup POR, hosted by Clube Naval de Portimão in Portimão, Portugal.
The regatta recorded a milestone for the series in Portugal, attracting a record fleet of 190 sailors. Competitors raced across the ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7 classes, with all fleets completing five races over three days of competition.
Sailors were tested by challenging and highly variable conditions throughout the weekend, with shifty winds demanding strong tactical awareness and consistency across the racecourse.
After five races in each fleet, the winners in all classes and categories were as follows:

The Europa Cup circuit now moves to Spain for the second round of the 2026 EurILCA Europa Cup Trophy, scheduled for next month in Murcia. The event will take place just ahead of the 2026 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships, which will also be hosted at the same venue.
Entries for the 2026 EurILCA Europa Cup ESP remain open until 29 March, with strong early interest already confirmed. More than 230 sailors have registered so far, pointing to another highly competitive event on the EurILCA calendar.
