The sixth event of the 2026 EurILCA Europa Cup is set to begin tomorrow at Fraglia Vela Riva, bringing together more than 640 sailors from 38 nations for four days of high-level racing on Lake Garda.

As one of the largest and most competitive regattas on the EurILCA calendar, the event confirms Riva del Garda’s status as a premier venue for international dinghy sailing. Open to the ILCA 4, ILCA 6 and ILCA 7 classes, the regatta attracts sailors ranging from emerging youth talents to experienced international competitors, creating a unique environment for development and performance.

The impressive entry list reflects the strength and diversity of the EurILCA community, with leading sailors from across Europe and beyond competing in a regatta that has become a key milestone of the season. Particularly significant for younger athletes, the event offers an important opportunity to gain experience in large fleets and measure themselves against some of the strongest competition in the class.

“We are on the eve of one of the most anticipated events of our racing calendar and the organizational machine, which is a source of pride for our club, is operating at full capacity. ILCA racing guarantees close competition, a very high technical standard and impressive entry numbers. The magic is happening once again because welcoming 642 sailors representing 38 nations is something truly remarkable,” said Fraglia Vela Riva President Chiara Carloni.

Organized by Fraglia Vela Riva in partnership with EurILCA, the regatta will run through Wednesday, featuring two days of qualifying races followed by two days of final series competition.

Racing will take place on two course areas managed by the on-water team led by Fraglia Vela Riva Technical Consultant Fausto Maroni. The event will be overseen by Race Officials Giuliano Tosi and Marcello Montis, coordinated by Principal Race Officer Zlatko Jakelic and First Assistant Javier Blanco. The ten-member International Jury will be chaired by Uros Zvan.

With exceptional participation numbers, strong international representation and a high technical standard across all fleets, the Riva del Garda event once again stands among the highlights of the 2026 EurILCA Europa Cup season.
