European Laser U21 Championships- Wind and swell on fourth day of races

Second windy day in a row for young sailors competing at European Laser under 21 Championships & Trophy 2017 in Douarnenez, France.

Big swell and 20-26 knots characterized races today in fourth day of competition.

European Laser U21 championships – Day 4 – Girl’s results

No changes in Radial first five spots, but perfect score achieved today by leader Aoife Hopkins IRL (3-1-4-1-3-1-1) positions her closer to championship, now heading fleet with 10 points. Second place for Aisling Keller IRL (4-8-1-3-2-3-3) with 16. Clementine Thompson GBR (8-5-3-2-1-7-2) completes provisional podium with 20 units.

Russian sailor Mariia Kislukhina RUS (2-13-2-4-6-5-4) is fourth with 23. Fifth place for Laura Oliva Vidal ESP (1-2-5-7-7-6-6) with 27.

European Laser U21 championships – Day 4 – Boy’s results

Joel Rodriguez Perez ESP (1-BFD-3-1-3-1-2) could recover Standard leadership today and heads championship with 11 points. Second place is now for Jonathan Vadnai HUN (4-9-1-2-2-3-1) with 13, moving British sailors Daniel Whiteley GBR (2-1-2-3-3-2-4) and Sam Whaley GBR (3-1-UFD-1-1-4-5) to 3rd and 4th with 13 and 15 units respectively. Fifth place for Polish sailor Jakub Rodziewicz POL (3-4-1-2-6-8-6) with 22.

Omer Boaz Golani ISR (6-17-7-15-4-19-15) continues to lead U19 championship with 64 points (14th overall), but closely followed now by local sailor Victor Carn FRA (4-15-11-23-14-12-12), just 4 points behind. Third U19 place for Alexandre Boite FRA (9-DSQ-7-14-9-13-33) with 85.
