The 2023 EurILCA Europa Cup MLT concluded today in Mellieha Bay, Malta, hosted by Malta Young Sailors Club.
Following three races with light breezes on the initial day of competition, the subsequent two days presented severe weather conditions, preventing any further on-water activities.
It wasn’t until today, the fourth day, that suitable sailing conditions returned to Malta, permitting three additional races for each fleet.
After a total of six races, the winners in ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7 are as follows:
Final results – 2023 EurILCA Europa Cup MLT
Hungarian sailor Sára Lackó HUN and Croatian Vito Fili CRO were finally tied in 9 points on top of the ILCA 4 fleet, crowning Girl’s and Boy’s champions respectively.
This was the largest fleet in Malta with 38 participants.
Local sailor Katrina Micallef MLT and Irish Emily Cantwell IRL claimed the second and third positions, respectively, among the Girls.
Croatian sailor Edi Jurman CRO and Serbian Andrej Bozoki SRB achieved the same feat, securing the second and third positions among the Boys.

In the ILCA 6, with 32 sailors on course, it was finally Bulgarian Alexandra Lukoyanova BUL who claimed Girl’s title, followed by Croatian Tea Peteh CRO and Ukranian Sofiia Naumenko UKR.
Local sailors Benjamin Vassallo MLT and Tomek Vaccaro MLT were first and second among Boys, followed by Singapore’s sailor Kenan Tan SGP.

Ukranian sailor Valeriy Kudriashov UKR dominated the 7 boat’s ILCA 7 fleet by winning all 6 races held.
He was accompanied on podium by British sailors Edward Baker GBR and Archie Wright GBR.
