The 2024 EurILCA Europa Cup AUT at Union-Yacht-Club Attersee concluded with a thrilling finale on a sun-drenched Sunday.
Despite a calm morning, the wind picked up around 1 pm, allowing organizers to lower the AP flag and send all classes out for the sixth and final race with 5-7 knots blowing from the north to northeast.

In the ILCA 7 class, Ukrainian sailor Oskar Madonich UKR clinched victory with a commanding 7-point lead over his Korean rival, Jeong Bo KOR. Fellow Ukrainian Semen Khashchyna UKR rounded out the podium in third place.
The ILCA 6 men’s division saw Hungarian Benedek Heder HUN dominate with a near-perfect series, finishing 7 points clear of his closest competitors. Jan Valenta CZE and Jeremias Prikryl CZE secured second and third places, respectively.
Beata Dokoupilova CZE of the Czech Republic triumphed in the ILCA 6 women’s class, with Serbia’s Kristina Boja SRB taking silver and Austria’s Isabel Pois AUT claiming bronze.
The ILCA 4 women’s fleet witnessed a nail-biting finish, as Juliana Ponto POL emerged victorious by a mere 3 points. Adela Prokopcova SVK and Roxie Berta Bartuskova CZE tied on points for second and third, with Prokopcova ultimately claiming the silver based on tiebreakers.
In the ILCA 4 men’s fleet, Czech sailor Jiri Tomes CZE edged out compatriot Tomas Peterka CZE by a single point to take gold, while Hungary’s Andras Varga HUN secured the bronze.
This exhilarating Europa Cup regatta in Austria showcased six races filled with sunshine, fierce competition, and exemplary sportsmanship.
As the event drew to a close, sailors and spectators alike celebrated a memorable weekend of world-class sailing on the picturesque waters of Lake Attersee.
