The EMS Austria 2026 was hosted by Union Yacht Club Neusiedlersee from 5 to 7 June and had 29 sailors from 4 countries competing in the ILCA 6 (13) and ILCA 7 (16) fleets.
Friday saw gusty northwesterly winds with up to 15 knots in poor weather allowing for 3 challenging races. Sunshine was back on Saturday with a light breeze from the south that died away during the second race of the day. The ILCA 7 fleet managed to complete the race, while it had to be abandoned for the ILCA 6 fleet. Sunday had good but again tricky conditions. The remaining two and three races could be completed for the ILCA 7 and ILCA 6 fleets, respectively.
Competition in the ILCA 7 was dominated by Christoph Marsano AUT scoring six consecutive bullets while retiring in the final race. Robert Holzer AUT was the runner-up in his maiden Masters regatta, one point clear of Beat Heinz SUI.
The ILCA 6 men had an international podium with Marco Casalini GER taking the top spot only a single point ahead of Krystian Nawrat POL. Thomas Deimling GER finished third with a win in the first race.
The ILCA 6 female competition was won by Michaela Sattler AUT scoring two bullets and finishing 20 points ahead of Petra Franzen GER. Third place was for Alexandra Reichel AUT.
