After waiting the whole day for the wind to calm down (+30-35 knots) finally sailors were able to launch their boats around 16:30 and enjoy of sailing under a wonderful sunset and warm temperature. This way the Final series started at the 2018 Laser 4.7 Youth European Championships in Patras, Greece.
Laser 4.7 Youth Europeans – Day 4 results – Girls
Top places continue to be tighten among the girl’s fleet, so championship promises to be challenging until the last race. Italian sailor Giorgia Cingolani ITA (8-2-1-1-1-5) continues to lead the competition, but draw in 10 points with Croatian Mare Milic CRO (1-1-4-2-11-2) and Belgium Eline Verstraelen BEL (1-3-5-1-2-3). Ursula Balas CRO (3-1-1-8-17-1) closely follow them on 4th with 14 units.
Abby Childerley GBR (4-8-3-3-13-51) is leading now the U16 championship with 31 points and 5th overall, followed by Flo Nicholls GBR (10-3-2-23-6-14) with 35. Third U16 overall is Australian sailor Brooke Wilson AUS with 50 points. Third European U16 is Sara Savelli ITA with 59.
Laser 4.7 Youth Europeans – Day 4 results – Boys
Italian sailor Cesare Barabino ITA (2-10-1-2-2-1) is now leading the boys championship with 8 points, followed by Greeks Emilios Monos GRE (3-1-1-17-4-2), Dikaios Kerkoulas GRE (1-2-9-5-3-10) and Emmanouil Kollias GRE (1-1-1-18-1-17), with 11, 20 and 21 units respectively.
Fifth overall and first U16 is Israeli sailor Yoav Kfir ISR (5-7-4-7-46-8) with 31 points. Finley Dickinson GBR (7-9-2-5-17-32) is second U16 with 40. Jordi Llado Duran ESP (3-9-9-12-31-58) is third U16 with 64 units.
