After a long wait on shore we could finally have three races today in Dziwnow, Poland, wrapping the Qualifying series with 6 for the girls and 5 for the boys.
The 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy are facing now the Final Series, with three more days of competition ahead. From now on, the girl’s fleets will be split in Gold and Silver, while the boys will be sailing in Gold, Silver and Bronze.
The day started today with the coaches meeting at 10:00, but 1 hour later the AP flag came up for both courses, due to light winds varying from 2-4 knots. It’s was only at 14:25 when the Race Committee decided to send all the girl’s fleets on water, followed by the boys at 14:55. There were just 5 knots at that moment but the forecast announced a little more pressure in the next hours so it was the right decision.
Once in the courses, the first races started and the breeze built up a bit, raising to 7-8 knots.
209 boys and 132 girls are being part of this European championships, representing 34 nations from all around the World.
