Nice weather and breeze conditions allowed three new races to be held in Travemünde today, where the 2021 EurILCA 4.7 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy wrapped now the Qualifying series and will face the Finals tomorrow on the last two days of competition.
South to South West 11-12 knots wind from shore provided sailors of great fun and speed over nearly flat water. 18-20 knots gusts even forced them to hike hard from time to time to keep their boats fast.
Italian sailor Emma Mattivi ITA is leading now girl’s competition with 23 points, escorted on provisional podium by Annemijn Algra NED and Claudia Adan Lledo ESP with 27 and 29. Overnight leader Helena Jaksic CRO is now fourth with 33.
First Under 16 position is now for Greek sailor Argyro Kouravelou GRE with 55 points and ranked 7th overall. Second and third U16 places for Aleksandra Borucka POL and Maria Vittoria Arseni ITA with 59 and 64.
Boy’s fleet is also dominated by Italian representatives, with Davide Nuccorini ITA now on top with 20 points, followed by the Under 16 leader Nicolo Cassitta ITA with 23. Third place overall is for Ernesto Suarez García ESP with 25.
Athanasios Kyfidis GRE and Jacek Kalinowski POL complete the Under 16 provisional podium on places fourth and seventh overall respectively.
Overnight leader Luca Centazzo ITA is now tenth overall and fourth U16 with 36.
