Final series started today in Split, Croatia, where the 2017 Laser Standard Men’s World Championship is being played.
French sailor Jean-Baptiste Bernaz is now in the lead, closely followed by Australians Matthew Wearn and Tom Burton.
2017 Laser Men’s World Championship – Day 4 results
Only one race could be completed today due to light winds. Not a good day for European sailors in top of rank.
Overnight leader Pavlos Kontides CYP (1-1-1-3-1-
DNF-26) is now 7th overall, after a broken sail under strong wind on third day and a bad result collected today.

Jean-Baptiste Bernaz FRA (2-2-
7-1-2-1-10) is performing really well under different sailing conditions and showing a great consistency, leading now World championship with 18 points.
Australian sailors Matthew Wearn AUS (
9-3-1-1-2-2-11) and Tom Burton AUS ( 18-2-6-7-1-1-5) are also being consistent and climbing positions every day, now following Bernaz in provisional podium with 20 and 22 units respectively.
Philipp Buhl GER (
10-1-3-2-3-4-18) has also scored his worst result today but still on chase in 4th position with 31 points. Same score for Australian Mitchell Kennedy AUS (4-7- 13-9-6-4-1) and Jesper Stalheim SWE ( 10-4-5-4-6-5-7), in 5th and 6th overall respectively.
Sergey Komissarov RUS (1-6-3-5-
8-8-12), Nick Thompson GBR (3-5-8-3-1- DNF-20) and Tonci Stipanovic CRO ( 17-1-4-1-10-12-14) are also among Top 10 with 35, 40 and 42 points respectively.
Hermann Tomasgaard NOR (10-9-9-9-3-
13-3), Giovanni Coccoluto ITA (3-2-9-4-21- DNS-9) and Filip Jurisic CRO (15-12-5-7-9- DSQ-2) are also close with 43, 48 and 50 units.
