The 2019 Laser Master World Championships concluded today in Port Zelande, Netherlands. After 6 days of competition, this were the final results.
2019 Laser Master World Championships – Final Results
Laser Standard results
In the Standard Apprentice fleet, Dave Ridley NZL won the tie-breaker over Eduardo Van Vianen NED, followed by Jared West ESP by one point on third.
Serge Kats NED decisively won the Standard Masters fleet, trailed by Brett Beyer AUS and Adonis Bougiouris GRE.
Carlos Martinez ESP won the Grand Masters fleet, escorted by Stefan Nordström SWE and Rik Wolters NED on podium.
Wolfgang Gerz GER was first among the Great Grand Masters, followed by British sailors Peter Sherwin GBR and Michael Hicks GBR.
Laser Radial results
In the Radial Apprentice fleet, Jon Emmett GBR held his first, escorted by Women’s champion Georgia Chimona GRE on second and Javier Tejedor ESP on third.
Leith Scott NZL was first among the Radial Masters, only three points over Anders Mattson SWE on second. Third place for French Jean-Christophe Leydet FRA. Giovana Lenci ITA was first among Women and ranked 9th overall among 40 competitors.
In the Radial Grand Masters fleet, Gilles Coadou FRA finished first, escorted by Kim Tan NED and Timothy Woodford CAN on podium. Vanessa Dudley AUS was first ranked Women, finishing 6th overall among 55 sailors.
Jeff Loosemore AUS had clear lead in the Radial Great Grand Masters fleet, escorted by Bill Symes USA and Henk Wittenberg NED on podium. Our Super Champion Hillary Thomas GBR added one more prize to her set, winning now the 2019 Women’s GGM World title.
Last but not least, the 2019 Radial Legends World championship was for Kerry Wareker AUS, sharing 27 points with second Johan Van Rossem NED, and only one point ahead of third Kevin Phillips AUS. Irish Denis O’Sullivan IRL was Women’s Legend World champion.
