2020 Laser Europa Cup POR – Final results in Portimao

The first 2020 Laser Europa Cup event concluded today at Clube Naval Portimão in Portugal. After 3 days of competition with very light winds, the Laser 4.7 fleet managed to complete only 2 races, while the Radial completed 3 and the Standard finally 4 of them. 188 sailors participated of this first 2020 Laser Europa Cup regatta, and the following were the final results.

portimao laser 4.7Our reigning 2019 Laser Europa Cup 4.7 champion Bendeguz Nagy HUN (4-1) was finally the overall and U18 winner with 5 points, escorted on podium by 4.7 Women’s champion Annemijn Algra NED (1-8) and local sailor Guilherme Cavaco POR (5-4), both with 9 points.

Also locals Leonor Dutra POR (8-2) and Joao Pontes POR (6-9) were crowned 4.7 Women’s U18 champion 4.7 Overall U16 champion respectively.

72 sailors were part of this fleet in total.


2020 Laser Europa Cup POR – Laser Radial – Final results

portimao laser radialThe Laser Radial first spot was finally for the reigning Laser Radial Women’s World champion Anne-Marie Rindom DEN (1-2-1) with 4 points, escorted on podium by Women’s U19 champion Marissa Ijben NED (2-6-1) and Men’s U19 champion Bas Kooijman Beuk NED (4-1-6) with 9 and 11 points respectively.

Matilda Nicholls GBR was first among the U21 fleet, finishing 5th overall with 13 units.

88 sailors competed on this championship.


2020 Laser Europa Cup POR – Laser Standard – Final results

portimao standardMaor Benharoch ISR (10-3-2-2) was finally the Laser Standard winner with 7 points, followed by the U21 champion Ben Childerley GBR (12-7-1-1) with 9. The third place was finally for Eduardo Marques POR (6-1-7-4), draw in 11 points with the overnight leader Tomas Pires de Lima POR (1-2-8-12).

28 sailors were part of this fleet.
