Second day of races at the 2018 Laser Europa Cup in Roses, Spain.
Tricky winds during whole afternoon made things difficult for sailors and the race committee, although after several hours they could finally return to shore with 3 new races completed for the Laser Standard and Radial, and 2 for the 4.7. Tomorrow will be the last day of races, starting at 12:00, when the new Europa Cup ESP champions will be decided.
2018 Laser Europa Cup ESP – Day 2 results
Overnight leader Filliah Karim CAN (1-1-5-13-
18-1) is second now with 21. One point behind him is U21 leader Alexandre Boite FRA (3-3-1-7- 12-8) on third.
Marcelo Cairo ESP (4-8-10-
19-8-2) continues to lead the U19 category with 32 and now sixth overall.
The Laser Radial competition is still on hands of U19 sailor Valtteri Uusitalo FIN (4-2-2-3-2-
7) with 13 points, followed by Women’s leaders Elena Borobeva CRO (6-7-1- 21-4-2) and Joyce Floridia ITA (7-3- 17-1-5-6) with 20 and 22 points respectively.
Italian sailor Niccolo Nordera ITA (2-6-1-
BFD69-6) continues to be on top of the Laser 4.7 fleet after two new races, now with 15 points, escorted by U16 leader Paul Hameeteman NED (1-1-14-6- BFD69) and Georgios Papadakos GRE (3-4-7-9- 31) with 22 and 23 points respectively. Seventh place overall and first Women’s spot for U16 sailor Alessia Palanti ITA (12-2-9- 28-8), followed by U18 sailor Rosine Baudet SUI (18-7-5-12- 25) on eleventh.
