Second round of the 2019 Laser Europa Cup started today at Circolo Velico Lago di Lugano in Switzerland. Light winds of 5-8 knots allowed 2 races for the Laser 4.7 and Laser Radial fleets, and 3 races for the Laser Standard.
2019 Laser Europa Cup Switzerland – Day 1 results
Local sailor Eliott Raison SUI (1-2) started governing the Laser 4.7 championship with 3 points, followed by girl’s leader Ursula Balas CRO (3-4). Third place overall for Swiss Benjamin Dufour SUI (9-1), draw in ten points with also Swiss Anja Von Allmen SUI (5-5) on fourth. 32 sailors participate of this fleet.
The Laser Radial competition is led by Finish Otto Dahlberg FIN (4-1) and Swiss Antonis Asonitis SUI (1-4), both with 5 points. Third place overall for British sailor Drew Barnes GBR (2-6), draw in 8 points with Liam Stampone FIN (5-3). 42 sailors are being part of this championship.
The Laser Standard fleet is also headed by a Finish sailor, Valtteri Uusitalo FIN (2-1-1) with 4 points, closely followed by Italian Lorenzo Masetti ITA (1-3-2) with 6. Third place overall for Croatian Marko Smolic CRO (4-2-3) with 9 units. 13 sailors are being part of this competition.
