Perfect sailing conditions for the first bunch of races in Vilamoura, Portugal, where more than 180 young sailors are enjoying of the 2020 Laser 4.7 Youth Europeans.
12-15 knots from SW allowed both scheduled races to be completed in all 3 fleets.
Day 1 results – Boys
Spanish sailor Marcos Altarriba ESP (1-1) drew a perfect score today among Boy’s, winning both of Yellow fleet’s races and leading the overall ranking with 2 points. Second place overall for Jason Kefallonitis GRE (2-2), finishing second on both Blue fleet’s races. Polish Przemyslaw Machowski POL (4-1) is third overall after winning Blue’s last race.
Dutch sailor Hidde Schraffordt NED (1-6) leads the U16 fleet after winning Blue’s first contest and holds the 6th place overall, draw in 7 points with Daniel Cardona ESP (2-5)
Day 1 results – Girls
Defending champion Alessia Palanti CZE (2019 Laser 4.7 Youth girl’s champion in Hyeres) ratified her awesome sailing today, scoring a win-win on the single girl’s fleet and leading the overall ranking with 2 points. Second spot overall for Polish Lily May Niezabitowska POL (4-2), draw in 6 points with third Maria Martinez ESP (3-3).
Girl’s U16 first spot for Croatian Petra Marendic CRO (9-7) on 6th place overall.
