Our 4.7 Youth European sailors shone at the 2021 Worlds in Ireland

The 2021 ILCA 4.7 Youth World Championships concluded today in Dun Laoghaire, Ireland.

Great news for our European representatives conquering both Girl’s and Boy’s top ten rankings in full.

Girl’s results – 2021 ILCA 4.7 Youth Worlds

Our recent 2021 4.7 Youth European Silver medalist in Travemunde –the Italian sailor Emma Mattivi ITA– claimed Gold this time a couple of weeks later at the Worlds. She finished first with 39 points after 12 races, escorted on podium by Petra Marendic CRO –4th at the Europeans– and Gaia Bolzonella ITA, with 45 and 46 points respectively.

Claudia Adan Lledó ESP –Bronze at the Europeans– and Annemijn Algra NED –Gold at the Europeans– were fourth and fifth this time at the Worlds with 56 and 69 units.

Adriana Castro ESP was crowned Girl’s Under 16 World champion, finishing 14th overall. Audrey Foley USA and Signe Brinkert NED –fifth at the U16 Europeans– completed the Girl’s U16 podium.

81 sailors participated of this fleet.

Boy’s results – 2021 ILCA 4.7 Youth Worlds

The Boy’s Gold medal goes to Latvia, with Martins Atilla LAT crowning new 2021 4.7 Youth World champion due to finishing first with 77 points after the 11 races held. He was escorted on podium by the new 2021 Under 16 champion –also Gold U16 and Bronze overall at the recent 4.7 Youth EuropeansAlexandros Eleftheriadis GRE with 83. Third place overall for our European Silver medalist in Travemunde, Massimiliano Antoniazzi ITA with 88.

Hidde Schraffordt NED and Dionysios Kalpogiannakis GRE accompanied Alexandros on the Under 16 boy’s podium.

150 competitors were part of this fleet.
