The 2021 Europa Cup Trophy concluded this afternoon with the last of the events programmed, the 2021 Europa Cup CRO in Hvar, Croatia. The event was organised by the Jedrilicarski Klub.
Light wind conditions were predominant during 3 of 4 days of competition. Only yesterday the wind raised above 10 knots and even reached 20 in the gusts.
The largest fleet were the ILCA 4 with 33 boats, where the Hungarian sailor Oliver Demjen HUN dominated the actions and won the championship with 13 points and 2 first spots. The second place overall was for the Ukranian Bohdan Rukhlin UKR with 16. Ivan Antipin UKR was third overall and first among the U16 category. Lea Rakovac CRO on fourth was the ILCA 4 Girl’s champion, escorted by Katja Rabak CRO (8th overall) and Nika Fornazar CRO (12th).
The ILCA 6 fleet counted with 26 boats, commanded by the local sailor Ursula Balas CRO on first with 19 points. Full podium for the Croatian team with Lovre Bakotic CRO and Max Gjidera CRO on second and third place overall respectively. Petra Marendic CRO (4th) and Petra Mastelic CRO (6th) completed the ILCA 6 Women’s podium.
The ILCA 7 championship showed a great brother’s duel, with Bruno and Stipe Gaspic CRO fighting for the first spot. Finally the elder (Bruno) was the overall and U21 champion with 13 points, only 3 points in front of his brother Stipe on second. The Ukranian sailor Valeriy Kudryashov UKR was third with 21 units.
