The 2022 EurILCA Master European Championships competition started today in L’Escala, Spain, with the first 2 scheduled races for all 5 fleets.
After a long wait for wind in the morning, all 263 sailors were allowed to go on water at 13:45 with 4-5 knots of breeze. One hour later the wind shifted 30 degrees and built up, providing a nice swell and sailing conditions of 8-13 knots along the afternoon.

Two new races will come tomorrow, with the first warning signal at 13:00 / coaches meeting at 11:00.
The regatta has the collaboration of the General Secretariat for Sport and Physical Activity of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the Girona Provincial Council, the Costa Brava Girona Tourist Board, the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation and the City Council of L’Escala, as well as Ports of the Generalitat, the Catalan Sailing Federation and the ILCA Class Spanish Association.
It also receives logistical support from Camping La Ballena Alegre, the La Ballena Alegre Sailing Club and the Nautivela nautical service company.
