The 2024 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy will kick off on Thursday 4th April at Jadralni Klub Burja in Izola, Slovenia, with the first day of registration and equipment inspection.
This year, the competition will feature the participation of 411 young sailors, comprising 246 boys and 165 girls from 37 different nations, with 33 of them coming from Europe. Among these sailors, 148 are under the age of 16, making them eligible to compete for both the Overall and U16 prizes.
Italy will boast the largest fleet with 72 sailors, followed by Greece and Spain with 51 and 31 respectively.
Racing is scheduled to commence on Sunday 7th, with the first warning signal at 11:00. Two races are scheduled per day until Friday 12th, when the winners will be announced and presented with prizes during the Closing ceremony.
The Welcome Ceremony will take place on Saturday 6th at 18:00, followed by a buffet meal.
