And finally the wind arrived! 15-20 knots today allowed the 2021 EurILCA Radial Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy to complete the first 3 races in Kastela, Croatia.
A sunny sky and great sea breeze enlightened the competition today, providing champagne sailing conditions.
This was Race day 4 so only 2 of them are missing to conclude the championships. Races tomorrow will serve to wrap the Qualifying series, while the last day will be reserved for the Finals.
Women’s Results – 2021 Radial Youth Europeans
2019 Laser 4.7 Youth European champion in Hyeres Alessia Palanti CZE rounded off a near perfect day, scoring a 1-2-1 and comfortably leading the fleet with 4 points.
Carlotta Rizzardi ITA (5-3-3) and Alexandra Lukoyanova RUS (3-4-5) are close with 11 and 12.
Tea Peteh CRO leads the girl’s Under 17 championship, holding the 5th place overall with 24 points. Marga Perello ESP is second U17 with 55 and ranked 15th.
Men’s Results – 2021 Radial Youth Europeans
Italian sailor Mattia Cesana ITA showed a terrific performance today winning all 3 races and leading both the overall and Under 17 boy’s championships with 3 points.
Javier Segui ESP (2-2-2) and Martin Verhulst SUI (2-1-5) are second and third overall with 6 and 8 units.
Second U17 place is for David Ponseti ESP, who’s ranked 6th overall and sharing 14 points with third U17 Domenico Lamante ITA.
