After a long day waiting for the wind to come finally sailors could have some races on the fifth day of this 2018 Laser 4.7 Youth European Championships in Patras, Greece.
2018 Laser 4.7 Youth Europeans – Day 5 results – Girls
Two new races for the girls today, where Croatian sailor Ursula Balas CRO (3-1-1-8-17-1-4-4) could jump from fourth to first place overall with 22 units, 4 points ahead now of the overnight leader Giorgia Cingolani ITA (8-2-1-1-1-5-8-9), and 5 points gap from third Eline Verstraelen BEL (1-3-5-1-2-3-12-19) with 27.
Mare Milic CRO (1-1-4-2-11-2-19-35) is now fourth overall with 40 points.
British sailor Flo Nicholls GBR (10-3-2-23-6-14-30-41) has surpassed now Abby Childerley GBR (4-8-3-3-13-50-35-30) and leads U16 championship with 85 points, in 9th place overall. Third U16 is Australian sailor Brooke Wilson AUS with 106, just 4 points ahead of third European U16 Alessia Palanti ITA.
2018 Laser 4.7 Youth Europeans – Day 5 results – Boys
Just one new race today for the guys, with Italian sailor Cesare Barabino ITA (2-10-1-2-2-1-37) still on top of competition with 18 units, 10 and 12 points in front of Greek sailors Emilios Monos GRE (3-1-1-17-4-2-43) and Dikaios Kerkoulas GRE (1-2-9-5-3-10-54). Fourth place for Emmanouil Kollias GRE (1-1-1-18-1-17-68 UFD) with 37.
Finley Dickinson GBR (7-9-2-5-17-30-22) is now leading the U16 championship with 62 points and ranked 9th overall, closely followed by Israeli sailor Yoav Kfir ISR (5-7-4-7-46-8-36) with 67. Third U16 is Jordi Llado Duran ESP (3-9-9-12-31-56-23) with 87 units.
