The 2022 EurILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy are starting in Thessaloniki, Greece, with the first measurement & registration’s day.
The following is the full event schedule;
395 youth sailors from 34 nations of all around the World will be part of this competition, organised by Nautical Club of Thessaloniki, Hellenic ILCA Class Association EurILCA, City of Kalamaria and Region of Central Macedonia. The event is kindly sponsored by EPT 3, Superfast Ferries, Grohe, Yamaha, Live Media, Interlife and Coral.
Many sailors are already practicing here and testing home waters, both participating of the Alexander The Great Cup’s pre-event or by themselves.
The Men’s will be the largest fleet with 286 sailors. They will race in four groups these days; Yellow, Blue, Red and White within the Qualifying series and Gold, Silver, Bronze and Emerald within the Finals.
The Women’s fleet is formed by 109 sailors and they will race in two groups; Yellow and Blue for the Qualifyings and Gold and Silver in the Finals.
The Race Committee have planned two courses for these championships: course A for the Women’s fleets and the Men’s White/Emerald; and course B for all the other Men’s groups. Racing will goes from July 1st to 6th, with 2 scheduled races per day.
