Medium to light winds allowed the first races to be held today at the 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Dziwnow, Poland.
The day started with the coaches meeting at 11:00, and 1 hour later all the fleets were allowed to go on the water. North wind of around 15 knots made the way to the courses really wavy and challenging.
Boys started their races at 13:00 on course B, while the girls did it at 13:30 on course A.
The sailing conditions unfortunately became lighter after the first starts, and continnued dropping within the whole afternoon from around 10-14 knots and 2 meters waves in the beginning to 8 knots and 1 meter wave in most part of the racing, with finally 4-5 knots in the last ones.
209 boys and 132 girls are being part of this championships, representing 34 nations from all around the World.
