The fourth day of competition concluded today in Dwiznow, Poland, for the 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy.
It was the first day of the Final series, where sailors were grouped in Gold, Silver and Bronze fleets.
Two new races were added to scores, being now 8 for the girls and 7 for the boys.
Light winds varying from 4-7 knots and some swell were the predominant sailing conditions. First races started around 15:00.
209 boys and 132 girls are being part of this European championships, representing 34 nations from all around the World.
Race Day 4 – Girls Results – 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth Europeans
Irene de Tomas ESP is the new Overall and Under 16 girl’s leader with 27 points, after scoring her third win in the championship. The overnight leader Clara Lorenzi ITA is now second Overall and U16 with 39. Evangelia Karageorgou GRE is third European overall with 44. Ritika Dangi IND is ranked third in the Open European Trophy. Mirja Dohle GER is third U16 and 9th European overall with 79 units.
Twins Vanessa Voutilainen FIN and Amanda Voutilainen FIN are fourth and fifth Europeans in the overall ranking.
Ana Rodriguez ESP (6th), Christina Meni GRE (7th), Michalina Pawelczyc POL (8th) and Hermione Ghicas GRE (10th) complete the European overall Top 10.
Race Day 4 – Boys Results – 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth Europeans
Boy’s top positions became very tight now, with Xavier Olle ESP leading with 28 points, followed just 1 point behind by Dionysios Kalpogiannakis GRE with 29. With 30 points appear the Italian sailors Giulio Genna ITA and Nicolo Cassitta ITA, leader and vice-leader of boy’s Under 16 championship.
The fifth place overall is for Svit Dujmovic SLO with 38. Third U16 place for Omer Vilenchik ISR with 41, in the sixth place overall.
Bulut Canakci TUR, Mariyan Yangov BUL, Tomasso Defontes ITA and Floris Schraffordt NED complete the provisional overall Top 10.
2 races are planned for tomorrow, with the first warning signal at 12:00 for the Silver-Bronze fleets / 12:45 for Gold. Coaches meeting will be at 10:00 at the hangar. Girl’s and boy’s Gold fleets races will be GPS tracked for you to follow them live here: https://www.metasail.it/incoming/305/
The 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy are organised by Dziwnów Commune, “Baltic” Dziwnów Water Sports Club and EurILCA.
