On the fifth day of competition, favorable and consistent wind conditions of 8-12 knots finally arrived to Athens, enabling all fleets to complete three new races late in the afternoon.

As a result, the ILCA 6 Women’s Championships now boast a total of six races, meeting the minimum requirement for the championship to be considered valid to allocate two new European spots for the Olympics.

Viktorija Andrulyte from Lithuania and Elena Vorobeva from Croatia secured these coveted spots, thus qualifying their respective countries for Paris 2024. Congratulations to both sailors!

With six races completed, the ILCA 6 Women’s fleet will proceed to sail a Medal race tomorrow, determining the new 2024 ILCA Senior European medalists.

Meanwhile, spots in the ILCA 7 category remain undecided. Only five races have been completed so far, and competitors will take to the water tomorrow with hopes of completing three new races, or at least one, to finalize the allocation of Olympic spots.

Louise Cervera, the next French Olympic representative, holds third place with 25 points.

It was a wonderful day. The first race was just amazing. I had a good start, good tactic, and then I did a good stuff on the speed, and I was really first from far away so I was happy. On the second race the same, I finished fifth, so it was really cool. The last one I did a bit shitty starts, so it was difficult for me but, it’s ok, I’m really happy about the day – Louise Cervera FRA.
