Complex day for sailors racing the 2017 Laser Senior European Championships in Barcelona.
Final series has started today with two races, where overnight leading sailors managed to keep first spots but closely followed now by tough opponents.
A light breeze from East and choppy conditions made races a hard challenge.
2017 Laser Senior European Championships – Day 4 results
Laser Standard – Results after 7 races
Croatian sailor Tonci Stipanovic CRO (1-1-1-4-2-4-
21) comfortably leads the Laser Standard championship with 13 points, but dropping now a worst discard.
Giovanni Coccoluto ITA (2-1-7-
37-5-13-1) and Andrew McKenzie NZL (2-2-11-1-2- 38-11) are now draw in 29 points, both in provisional Open championship podium.
Third European sailor and fourth overall is current Laser World champion Pavlos Kontides CYP (7-4-12-1-6-
24-4) with 34 units.
Spanish sailor Joaquin Blanco ESP scored his first win today and raised to 12th spot.
Laser Radial Women – Results after 7 races
Not the best day for Marit Bouwmeester NED (2-2-1-2-1-10-
19) who’s leading Women’s championship now just 2 points ahead of Anne-Marie Rindom DEN (5-6-1-2-3-3- 14).
Third and fourth are Tuula Tenkanen FIN (3-
10-6-6-1-5) and Silvia Zennaro ITA (2- 11-2-11-5-2), draw in 31 points. Both have drawn her best scores today.
Svenja Weger GER (13-1-
14-5-8-9) has won her second race on event and is 5th overall with 37 points.
Lithuanian sailor Viktorija Andrulyte LTU got his first bullet on event today winning the first race and is ranked now 19th with 73 units.
Laser Radial Men – Results after 7 races
Marcin Rudawski POL (5-5-1-1-1-5-
18) continues to lead Radial Men’s competition with 18 points. Second overall and first U21 is now Marcelo Cairo ESP (6-1- 10-7-6-8-7) with 35 points, showing great consistent sailing. Pau Schilt ESP (10- 39-10-1-1-21-2) is third overall with 45.
