Now the entries are closed, we can gladly announce the extraordinary participation the next 2023 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy will have in 4 weeks in Poland.
273 boys and 120 girls have joined the competition, organised by EurILCA in collaboration with the Polish Yachting Association.
The event will run from July 12-19, 2023 at Marina Gdynia.
Top level racing is expected, with many of best youth sailors taking part of the competition, including last year’s Silver medalists Emma Mattivi from Italy and Alexandros Eleftheriadis from Greece.
Other reigning European medalists such as Spanish sailors Adriana Nuñez Castro (2022 ILCA 6 Youth U17 champion) and Irene de Tomás Perelló (2022 ILCA 4 Youth champion) will be also part of the fleet.
Boy’s championship also promises a fierce competition, with the top 3 medalists from the recent 2023 ILCA 6 Men’s Senior European Championships in Andora (Athanasios Kyfidis GRE, Mattia Cesana ITA and Rocco Wright IRL) attending the event.
42 Nations (30 of them European) will be represented on water.
The country with more representatives will be the local (62 sailors), followed by Italy (42) and Germany (39).
One third of the +390 competitors will be Under 17, so their championships also promise to be challenging.
