The first day of races concluded today in Hourtin, where the 2022 EurILCA Under 21 European Championships & Open European Trophy are being held. The event is organised by Club Voile Hourtin Medoc with the support of the Municipality of Hourtin.

171 youth sailors from 36 countries are being part of this competition: 61 girls in the ILCA 6 fleet and 110 boys in the ILCA 7.

The first warning signal was programmed to be at 1100 this morning, but due to the lack of wind the fleets had to wait ashore until 1300 when they were allowed to launch their boats.

The first set of races for all three groups started around 1430. Light and shifty winds from 3-10 knots prevailed during the whole afternoon, however all scheduled races could be completed.
