The second round of the 2025 EurILCA Europa Cup Trophy concluded yesterday in Koper, Slovenia, with the 2025 EurILCA Europa Cup SLO.
Hosted by JK Jadro Koper, the event welcomed 147 sailors from 13 countries competing in the ILCA 4, ILCA 6, and ILCA 7 classes.
The regatta offered excellent sailing conditions. A total of seven races were successfully completed over the three days in all three classes. The final day of the competition was marked by strong northeastern winds, which reached up to 20 knots at the beginning of the day, later easing to 16 knots. With sunny weather and choppy seas, the competitors seized the last opportunities to improve their results.
In the ILCA 7 class, the local sailor Luka Zabukovec SLO performed excellently and secured the overall victory. Matej Valič (SLO) finished in second place, and Luca Fajman ITA took third place. Zabukovec was also the best in the under 21 category.
In the ILCA 6 class, Josip Tafra CRO triumphed in the men’s competition, also winning the under 19 category. Šime Bosna Rusković CRO claimed second place, and Lorenzo Gabrielli ITA took third place, also winning the under 17 category. In the women’s competition, Carolina Albano ITA secured first place, followed by Sofia Naumenko UKR and Alenka Valenčič SLO. In the under 19 category, the best was Nika Fornažar CRO.
In the ILCA 4 class, Leo Gosling SUI claimed the overall victory among the boys with excellent races that secured him the lead. Edi Jurman CRO finished in second place, and Bepo Duplančić CRO took third place. Among the girls, Giulia Marella ITA was the best, followed by Leanne Turrin SUI, with Marta Tudor CRO taking third place.
The regatta concluded in the true spirit of competition. Congratulations to all the competitors for their excellent performances, and thanks to the organizers and support teams for the successful execution of the event.
The 2025 EurILCA Europa Cup Trophy will continue in ten days at the Yacht Club Imperia in Italy, alongside the 2025 EurILCA Europa Cup ITA. The event, with over 500 sailors registered, is scheduled to run from March 13-16.
