The 2023 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy concluded today in Cadiz, Spain, after 6 days of racing.
8-9 knots of wind accompanied last 2 races for boys and a single one for girls. Check the results below to meet our new 2023 ILCA 4 Youth European champions!
Girl´s final results – 2023 ILCA 4 Youth Europeans
Hermionie Ghicas GRE was finally both overall and Under 16 champion with 66 points, followed by her compatriot Maria Eleni Kalakona GRE with 93. Polish sailor Hanna Rogowska POL was third overall and U16 vice champion. Gaya Datiashvili ISR completed the U16 podium.
Boy´s final results – 2023 ILCA 4 Youth Europeans
Full podium for Italian sailors in Boy´s championship, with Nicolo Cassita ITA finishing first overall and crowning new champion with 43 points. Second place for Salvatore Falchi ITA with 72. Third place overall for Alessandro Cortese ITA with 99.
In fourth place overall finished the Under 16 champion Lorenzo Ghirotti ITA with 100 units. Fifth place overall and U16 vice championship title for Spanish Tim Lubat ESP with 103. Kutsal Kurnaz TUR completed the U16 podium in 7th place of the main ranking.
390 young sailors from 39 nations have participated of this competition, organised by Ayuntamiento de Cádiz, Instituto Municipal del Deporte de Cádiz, Real Federación Española de Vela and EurILCA.
The event was supported by Federación Andaluza de Vela, Consejería de Sostenibilidad, Medio Ambiente y Economía Azul and Universidad de Cádiz, and kindly sponsored by Eléctrica de Cádiz, Aguas de Cádiz and Cupra Automoción Terry.
