The 2023 ILCA Under 21 European Championships & Open European Trophy concluded today in Stavanger, Norway, after 6 days of competition and 9 races held.

After a new long waiting for the wind on the water, the sailors could finally have a last race today to decide the new 2023 ILCA Under 21 European champions!

Undoubtedly the highlight of the day was for the squadra italiana conquering both podiums and winning all 6 Under 21 medals! They have also won Bronze in the Under 19 so 7 out of 9 medals for their country.

Australian sailor Stefan Elliot-Shircore AUS finished second overall and won the Trophy´s Silver prize.

The Under 19 Gold medal went for Poland, and Silver for Sweden.

Full results – ILCA 7

A total of 228 youth sailors hailing from 36 different nations around the globe have enjoyed of this competition.

ILCA 7 was the largest fleet with 153 sailors. ILCA 6 Women’s fleet was composed by 75 participants.

Apart from the Under 21 Women’s and Under 21 Men’s competitions, the ILCA 7 Under 19 title was also up for grabs at this event in Stavanger.

Next year the 2024 ILCA Under 21 European Championships will be held in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca, Spain, from 16-23 March 2024.
