The 2025 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy kicked off yesterday in Puck, Poland. The first two days were dedicated to registration and equipment inspection, followed by a flag parade through the town and the Opening Ceremony.

A record-breaking 440 participants from 41 countries will compete from tomorrow through Wednesday, June 25th, to crown the new European champions in both the Boys’ and Girls’ ILCA 4 categories, as well as the Under-16 European champions.

A total of 276 boys will race across four groups throughout the week, while 164 girls will compete in three groups.

The regatta is organized by the Polish ILCA Class Association Team Poland in cooperation with the Polish Yachting Association and EurILCA, and co-financed by the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Marshal’s Office of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

The event is hosted by the City of Puck, Marina Puck, and Invest Puck Sp. z o.o. Honorary patrons include the Ministry of Sport and Tourism and the Marshal of the Pomeranian Voivodeship.

Event partners are Devoti Sailing, Raiffeisen Bank, Best, ING for Children Foundation, WWF Poland, Uniwersytet Gdański, and Coastal Landscape Parks. Media partners are Radio Nowy Świat and TVP3 Gdańsk.

EurILCA’s Solidarity Programme

The 2025 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships in Puck will also welcome the EurILCA Solidarity Programme Team, led by Ms. Burcu Algon Giorgianni.

This marks the eighth time we have supported the programme, following successful initiatives in Patras 2018, Hyeres 2019, Vilamoura 2020, Travemünde 2021, Dziwnów 2022, Cadiz 2023, and Izola 2024.

The programme aims to assist youth sailors from European countries with low participation in joining the ILCA 4 Youth European Championships. You can read more about the programme here: https://eurilca.org/solidarity-programme/
