Light to medium, shifty and patchy winds tested the fleets on day three of the 2026 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Los Alcázares, Spain, as the Qualifying Series came to a close. From tomorrow through Saturday, sailors will be divided into Gold, Silver, Bronze and Emerald fleets for the Final Series, where the new ILCA 4 Youth European champions will be decided.
In the girls’ fleet, Greece’s Eleni Triantou GRE retained her lead in both the Overall and Under-16 standings, with Croatia’s Tanja Ozretic CRO now in second place.
The boys’ overall standings are now also topped by a Greek sailor, as Stefanos Samaras GRE climbed from third to first following today’s races. Overnight leader Arel Hangul TUR of Turkey has slipped to fifth overall but continues to head the Under-16 standings.
