ILCA’s path to a sustainable future

559 0

As part of its commitment to a sustainable future, ILCA has introduced a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) to evaluate and improve the sustainability of both its events and boat production. This initiative aims to drive long-term, meaningful change while preserving the class’s rich legacy and competitive sailing values.

With over 227,000 boats built, ILCA remains a leading class in Olympic competitions.

With increasing awareness of environmental concerns, ILCA is working to strike a balance between tradition and eco-friendly solutions.

The class is focused on reducing its carbon footprint, upgrading boat production materials, and extending the lifespan of older boats.

Recent initiatives include collaborating with industry partners and exploring alternative sustainable materials.
