Race day 3 – 2024 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships

The qualifying series concluded today after the first three days of competition at the 2024 ILCA 6 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Bangor, Northern Ireland.

The sailing conditions were very similar to yesterday’s. Light winds and flat water tested the sailors’ skills and mental strength, and also challenged the Race Committee to manage the course settings and ensure fair racing for all 358 participants.

Ultimately, only one race per fleet was possible, concluding the qualifying series with 5 races each. Starting tomorrow, the Boys’ championships will be divided into Gold, Silver, Bronze, and Emerald fleets, while the Girls’ championships will compete in Gold and Silver fleets.

The provisional results are as follows.

Gilda Dondona FRA from France secured a second-place finish in today’s single race, reinforcing her dominance in the Girls’ championship and leading the fleet with 7 points.
