The Final Series kicked off today at the 2025 ILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Puck, Poland.
The day began with an AP flag on shore due to a lack of wind. It wasn’t until 12:30 that all fleets were allowed on the water, with 6-7 knots coming from the E-SE. Flat water and a partially sunny sky set the stage for the start of the action.
Wind shifts and drops made the Race Committee’s job particularly challenging. Wind speeds fluctuated between 4 and 9 knots throughout the day, with even lighter conditions in the Girls’ race area. The Girls’ Gold fleet managed to complete a race, while the Silver and Bronze fleets returned to shore without any results. In the Boys’ course, only the Gold fleet managed to complete both scheduled races, while the Silver, Bronze, and Emerald fleets could only finish one.
All fleets were back on shore between 17:00 and 17:30, just before a short but intense storm and lightning struck.
As a result, the first day of the Final Series got off to an irregular start, leading to the following provisional results:

The forecast predicts stormy weather and strong winds for tomorrow, with gusts exceeding 35 knots. If conditions allow, the Race Committee plans to conduct two new races in the morning, with the first warning signal scheduled for 11:00 in both racing areas. The bibs ceremony will begin at 09:00, immediately followed by the coaches’ meeting, at a location to be announced.
