A great windy and sunny day enlightened today the fifth day of competition at the 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European Championships & Open European Trophy in Dziwnnow, Poland.
It was the second day of the Final series, where the fleets sailed in Gold, Silver and Bronze groups.
9-14 knots from shore made the racing really fun and challenging, completely changing the sailing conditions we had the previous days, with less pressure and more swell.
The races started as per scheduled; 12:00 at the Silver/Bronze’s course and 12:45 at the Gold fleet’s course.
Only 1 day is missing now to know who will be the 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth European champions.
209 boys and 132 girls are being part of this European championships, representing 34 nations from all around the World.
Race Day 5 – Girls Results – 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth Europeans
Irene de Tomas ESP continues to lead the Overall and Under 16 girl’s championships with 57 points, although now closely followed by Evangelia Karageorgou GRE –winner of the last race today– with 59. Christina Meni GRE was the winner of the first one today and climbed from 7th to the 3rd place overall with 71 units.
Finland’s sailor Vanessa Voutilainen FIN is fourth with 73. Ana Rodriguez ESP is fifth with 88.
Provisional girl’s Under 16 podium is completed by Clara Lorenzi ITA in the sixth European overall place with 92 points, and Hermionie Ghicas GRE in the tenth with 106.
Maria Kalakona GRE, Ginevra Caracciolo ITA and Adriana Castro ESP complete the provisional European overall Top 10 on places 7th to 9th respectively.
Race Day 5 – Boys Results – 2022 EurILCA 4 Youth Europeans
The boy’s fleet has a new leader now and that’s the Under 16 sailor Giulio Genna ITA, draw in 42 points with the also Italian and U16 sailor Nicolo Cassitta ITA. The overnight Overall leader Xavier García Olle ESP is now third Overall with 52. The third place in the provisional Under 16 podium is for Omer Vered Vilenchik ISR, ranked in fourth place Overall with 63 units.
Panagiotis Spanos GRE, Dionysios Kalpogiannakis GRE, Tymoteusz Wysocki POL, Mariyan Yangov BUL, Tomasso Defontes ITA and Luca Centazzo ITA complete the boy’s Overall Top 10, on places 5th to 10th respectively.
The last 2 races are scheduled for tomorrow, with the first warning signal at 08:00 for the Gold fleets and 08:45 for Silver and Bronze.
