The countdown is on for the 2025 Suzuki ILCA Master European Championships, a Gold Accredited Clean Regatta, and sustainability remains a core focus in our event planning.
Our event sponsor, Suzuki, has kindly provided four quad bikes to support sailors during the Beach Clean, which will take place after racing on 17th June. This initiative is part of Suzuki’s wider Clean Ocean Project, and we’re grateful for their enthusiasm and commitment to protecting our marine environment.
We’ve also received great interest in Suzuki’s Micro-Plastic Collecting Device, which will be fitted to several of the Suzuki-powered safety boats operating on the racecourse. Sailors keen to learn more can visit the Suzuki Marine Sustainability page for further details.
We’ve made a concerted effort to ensure all competitor materials are as eco-friendly as possible. Event handouts will be provided in Hessian reusable bags—your new bag for life—and we’ve eliminated the use of sail stickers. Only essential plastic will be used throughout the event.
All sailors are strongly encouraged to watch our Environmental Briefing. With Hayling Island Sailing Club located in a designated National Landscape, every participant has a role to play in helping us minimise plastic use, conserve water, and protect local wildlife, including our colonies of birds and seals.

If you have five minutes, please take the time to view the briefing here: HISC Environmental Briefing.
We also encourage everyone to look at the Clean Regatta’s Green Boating Guide to see how else you can contribute to sailing sustainably.
Let’s work together to ensure the 2025 Suzuki ILCA European Masters is as sustainable as it is memorable.
