The 2019 Laser Radial Women’s and Men’s World Championships started in Sakaiminato, Japan. After 2 rainy days with light and shifty wind, this are the provisional results.

2019 Laser Radial Women’s World Championships – Day 2 results

Swedish sailor Josefin Olsson SWE (1-2) leads the Women’s World championship with 3 points in 2 races, followed by Marie Bolou FRA (3-1) and Line Flem Host NOR (3-3) with 4 and 6.

Our recent European champion Anne Marie Rindom DEN started with a first spot on day 1 but a BFD on second, so she’s currently ranked 59th.

Reigning Olympic Gold medalist Marit Bouwmeester NED (5-15) is currently 10th overall.

This championship is also attractive for sailors aiming to win one of ten Olympic places to be delivered and qualify their countries to Tokyo 2020. 111 are the boats participating of this fleet.

2019 Laser Radial Men’s World Championships – Day 2 results

Australian sailor Zac West AUS (7-2-5) leads the men’s fleet after 3 races with 14 points, followed by Japanese Shoichiro Onodera JPN and Belgian Simon De Gendt BEL with 22 and 26 units.

Only 3 european sailors (Jan Heuninck BEL 5th – Erwan Lamoureux SUI 7th) are participating of this championship. Only 32 sailors in total, 26 of them from Japan, 2 from Australia and 1 from Brazil.
