The fourth step of the 2022 EurILCA Europa Cup started today at Circolo Vela Torbole, with more than 540 sailors (See Participation record…) joining this great sailing event in Lake Garda.
The weather was perfect for starting the championships, with lot of sun, waves and a winds varying from 12 to 15 knots.
In the ILCA 7 fleet we are honoured to have the ILCA class legend Robert Scheidt BRA racing with us this days. The 5X Olympic Medalist and multiple times World champion won both races today and leads the ranking with perfect score. The second place is for the Croatian sailor Alec Cvinar CRO with 8 points. The third place overall is for the U21 leader Pietro Giacomoni ITA, draw in 10 points with 2nd U21 Attilio Borio ITA. 53 sailors participate of this fleet.
The ILCA 6 is a mixed event where boys and girls are racing together in three different fleets. Antonio Pascali ITA is the overall leader after 2 races with perfect score, followed by the women’s leader Louise Cervera FRA with 3 points. The third place overall is for Mattia Cesana ITA with 4. 213 sailors are being part of this fleet.
The ILCA 4 is also a mixed fleet with all the 245 participants sailing together in 3 different groups. After 2 races is the U16 sailor Nicola Cassita ITA who leads the overall ranking with perfect score. Luca Centazzo ITA and Salvatore Falchi ITA complete the provisional overall podium with 3 and 5 units respectively. Kristina Flosmanova CZE is the girls’s leader on place 12 with 12 points.
